3 Reasons Self-Improvement is the Sh*t! (2 min read)
We all have areas of our lives that we would like to improve. Whether it’s our health, our relationships, our finances, or our careers, there is always room for growth. But why is self-improvement important? And how can we go about improving ourselves? Read on to find out.
Self-improvement is important for a number of reasons. When we improve ourselves, we become happier and more confident. We also become better people–people who are more likely to achieve our goals and live up to our full potential. Beyond that, self-improvement is something that we can control. We can’t always control what happens to us in life, but we can control how we react to those events and how we grow from them. This is where the power lives. Imagine if you had control over just 10% more of your life, what that could change for you and your loved ones.
(1) There are a number of ways to go about improving ourselves. One way is to set goals & follow through (easier said than done). When we have specific goals in mind, we are more likely to achieve them. They style in which we set goals also increases or decreases our likelihood of achieving them (S.M.A.R.T. goals format is best).
(2) Another way to improve ourselves is to surround ourselves with positive people. Studies have shown that the people we associate with have a significant impact on our own happiness and success. If we want to be successful and happy, it’s important to associate with people who are already successful and happy. Put simply, raise your standards, your expectations of the people you are surrounded by and the people you are surrounded by will have higher standards and expectations of you. Let your environment help you, not hold you back. Life hack baby!
(3) Finally, another way to improve ourselves is through personal development activities such as reading self-help books, attending workshops or seminars and my personal favorite to stack on top of all the above, hiring a Coach. These activities help us learn new things and gain new perspectives that can be applied to our own lives. For the most bang for your buck, my personal favorite: in-person seminars. The power of full immersion is easily seen in someone who spends 3 months in a foreign country to learn a language, vs someone spending 30 minutes a day on an app. Full immersion is a game changer.
Conclusion:
Self-improvement is crucial for achieving success and happiness in life. It’s not about hitting goals, it’s about growing. Growth is the sign that you are alive! It’s something that we can control, and there are many different ways to go about it. To get started on your own journey of self-improvement, set some goals, surround yourself with positive people who want the same things you do, and engage in personal development activities. Watch your life takeoff and there is no limit!
